LinkedIn is currently the most powerful medium to identify and nurture potential connections to help advance your professional career, business or sales efforts. Asking one of your connections for an introduction to one of their connections, is purported to be one of the more valuable features of LinkedIn.

From my experience and that of others I’ve interviewed, rarely do we see LinkedIn connection introduction requests that aren’t either clunky or absent a compelling reason why we would want to act on the connection request.

Most arrive like this:

Hey Xxx,

Hope you are well.

I’d love it if you could intro me to Yyy’’.

Given our short attention spans and time constraints, a LinkedIn introduction request needs more structure and context to compel your connection to act. There is a better way, and it has been around for a long time. Fortunately for you, I’m notorious for saving old articles and revisiting them.
